Mammoth Skiing 2013

After a couple of trips to Mountain High, I felt prepared for my ski trip to Mammoth with Sudarshan and Kornelius. I purchased the beginner lift tickets which give access to only specific green slope elevators which I felt would be sufficient for me to practice (and were almost half the price of regular day lift tickets). We reserved a condo in the town of Mammoth Lakes for the weekend and were all set for a fun trip.

The condo was good and the complex had a nice jacuzzi and sauna.

We rented skis at this place based on its good Yelp reviews and it worked out fine: http://www.kittredgesports.com/

While the beginner pass is good to practice if you are an absolute beginner, it gives you very limited access if you are an advanced beginner like me. So on the second day I decided to upgrade my beginner ticket to a regular day ski-lift ticket paying the difference.

Ready to ski-down.. Or am I looking up the ski slope from below?
The best part about skiing at Mammoth was that the slopes were not crowded unlike Mountain high. Hence I could ski at my own pace without having to worry about snowboarders running into me.

Another beautiful day in Mammoth
I took the gondola to the top but I still have a few years of practice ahead before skiing down the slopes from there.
A gondola takes you to the very top of Mammoth mountain where you have a 360 degree view.
